We are aware that Autism affects people in different ways. Our needs-led assessments focus on people’s strengths and preferences, taking into consideration their varying and complex needs. At SML’s Hope will listen to people and their families. Since we support people with even the most complex needs (generally distressed) we know that histories, to be part of their community, enabling them to have greater choice and control, and to live an ordinary life is important. We meet people’s needs through robust assessments and support planning. We do this by completing person-centred assessments and ensuring proactive, planned, and coordinated support which involves multi-disciplinary teams and families and carers to ensure we understand the needs and expectations of the service users and their families from the outset. All our staff are trained in autism awareness and receive extra training for individuals with complex needs so you can rely on us for safe, flexible, and personalised support.
